Melbourne based jewellery designer, Bianca Librandi, fell in love with the art of jewellery whilst studying in 2006. White November was born from an amalgamation of her cultural and family heritage, with the name stemming from her first name, Bianca, the feminist word for White in Italian, and November, a special month in which she shares the exact same birthday as her sister, albeit 6 years apart.
White November is based in Melbourne, Australia with all pieces handmade in the Southbank Studio.
The White November jewels are small pieces of wearable art, mini sculptures that explore the way jewellery can play with light and personal space, jewellery that is both personal and expressive. Each piece is created from stainless steel, gold plated metal and recycled silver where possible, and crafted by combining industrial processes with traditional handcraft techniques.
A trip to Rome unexpectedly inspired White November's first collection – Celestial Spheres. Beginning from a fascination of the interior architecture and floor plans of the Pantheon building, it turned from sketches and drawings to then layers of metals overlapping and intertwining to mimic the silhouettes of stars, planets and solar systems; a power of celestial proportions with an underlying softness.
White November's second collection, Planetary Palms, visualises galaxies and palm trees created from Yellow Gold and Silver, both polished and matte, that allude to planetary surfaces pulled together via moving parts.
Bianca is constantly finding inspiration in architecture, interior design, fashion and art history, crafting White November jewels that hold the charm of a different era, moment or even universe.
